John Phillips is head of Broker-Dealer and Bank Sales for Fidelity Clearing & Custody Solutions®. Fidelity Clearing & Custody Solutions provides a comprehensive clearing and custody platform, brokerage, investment and reporting services, trading capabilities and practice management and consulting to registered investment advisors, including strategic acquirers and professional asset managers, retirement recordkeepers, broker-dealer firms, banks, insurance companies, family offices and wealthy families. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing and other financial products and services to more than 26 million individuals, institutions and financial intermediaries.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Phillips was an executive vice president with strategic sales responsibility for the broker-dealer and bank segments of Fidelity Clearing & Custody Solutions. Previously, Mr. Phillips served as national sales manager for National Financial. Mr. Phillips began his career at Fidelity in 1989, and has held various positions, including roles in operations and retail brokerage, as well as in sales and relationship management.
From 1999 to 2003, Mr. Phillips was director of Global Operations for Gomez Advisors, where he was responsible for managing operations for domestic consulting and market research. He also served as principal for the company's international division, overseeing business operations in the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea and Canada. Mr. Phillips rejoined National Financial in 2003.
Mr. Phillips received a bachelor of science degree in finance from the University of Vermont, and an MBA from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.
